Available at auction here is a Sony model MZ-R55, serial #1031598 minidisc player / recorder. It comes with several Sony accessories that have enhanced the way this player has primarily been used. These accessories include a pair of Sony MDR-A10 ear bud style foldable headphones, and a 3-volt AC adapter for stationary use and for charging a nickel-metal hydride battery (not included in this auction). Also included is a Sony DCC-E230 car 12-volt to 3-volt power adapter, a mini phone to mini phone adapter cord for recording from other digital sources such as a CD player or another disc player or for playback in auto sound systems with a mini phone input jack, a Sony mini to RCA audio adapter for playback through another audio system, a universal audio cassette adapter, and a Sony NC-5WM nickel-cadmium gumstick battery with its Sony BC-7 AC gumstick ni-cad battery charger. This player has primarily been used for playback of recorded minidiscs through a home audio system and for playback of discs through an automobile sound system. It has been used exclusively with both the AC or DC the 3-volt adapters, with the gumstick battery placed in the battery housing for power supply stability through placement of the proper charging load on the supply (Sony recommendation). The included nickel cadmium battery only takes only a small charge, so if totally portable use is desired, a nickel-metal hydride battery should be obtained (commonly available on the Internet). A minidisc containing music that was recorded on this recorder is also included with this auction. This recorder / player has excellent dynamic sound, and is one of the smallest available formats for recording and playback of analog music. It will allow you to playback those minidiscs in your music collection with minimal space being taken.
